Hello everyone,
I hope your semesters have or will soon wrap up and you are looking forward to relaxing summer plans — or to getting to all the things on your To Do list you haven’t gotten to yet!
I am writing with the call for the 7th issue of Center Moves: A Peer-Reviewed Archive of Tutor Training Materials. This archive houses peer-reviewed lesson plans and materials that administrators and tutors can use and modify for training in their centers.
The Center Moves Editors have had several discussions recently about how deeply reading and writing are interconnected in our daily center work, as well as how tutors themselves read, study, and learn about the field through their training. This issue explores that dual dynamic: how we train tutors to actively support reading in writing consultations, and how we introduce those same tutors to the foundational philosophies and best practices of Writing Center Studies. We invite proposals for this issue that share insights and strategies on these two topics:
- Topic 1: Training tutors to support reading in the writing center
- Topic 2: Introducing tutors to Writing Center Studies
The full CFP is attached and can be found along with the submission form on the Center Moves homepage.
Proposals are due July 15, 2026. All submissions will undergo a peer-review process before being accepted for publication. The issue will be published in March 2027.
We look forward to receiving your submissions! Reach out to me or to the Center Moves Editors at centermoves.rmwca if you have any questions.
We look forward to your submissions!
