Are you thinking of submitting a proposal for the TYCA Midwest Conference this October? Now is the time, my friend! You can do it. This year’s theme is The Cutting Edge. Presenters can propose both in person and virtual sessions on a variety of topics:
- first-year writing
- literature
- humanities
- pedagogy
- co-requisite courses
- teaching with/resisting AI
- adjunct experiences
TYCA Midwest is a friendly organization and a great place to get your feet wet if you’re new to conferencing. View the CFP for the 2026 TYCA Midwest Conference here! Proposals are requested by July 6th and can be submitted here.
Hosted by Metropolitan Community College of Omaha, this year’s conference theme, The Cutting Edge, offers an excellent opportunity to engage in dialog about two-year colleges as sites of innovation in writing instruction. It also asks participants to consider how we are managing our work in the current environment of political hostility toward our rights, our students, and the value of education upon which the two-year college is built. We hope you’ll join us Oct. 8-10 to bring your voice to the discussion!
Cheers,
Suzanne Labadie
