Colleagues,

The Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is hiring a Research & Writing Librarian, a unique, full-time, in-person/hybrid position shared equally between the University Library and the Writing Center. This role brings together evidence-based research, information literacy, and scientific and academic writing support in a collaborative medical education environment.
The Writing Center is housed in the Library and reports to the same director, Jennifer Rice: jrice
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds an ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) (or equivalent).
- Has a strong background or interest in writing, writing instruction, or writing center work.
- Enjoys collaborating with faculty, students, librarians, and writing specialists.
- Wants to help medical students, faculty, and researchers become stronger scholars and communicators.
The salary range is $55,000–$63,000, depending on qualifications.
On a personal note, you’ll be working directly with me and an outstanding group of colleagues. We have an incredibly supportive team, enjoy trying new ideas, and are building something that intentionally bridges research and writing in medical education. If you know someone who would thrive in this kind of interdisciplinary role, I’d be grateful if you would share this opportunity. This would be a great position for someone who is beginning their academic career.
