CFP: unusual ideas about criticality

Hello wcenterers,

Off the back of AI for Students, which did pretty well for an independently published book, I’m having a go at extending Promptly Books (thanks Anne-Marie Langford for suggesting it). It’ll be an experiment to see if I can make publishing unusual books in education, ideas, art, and literature a little easier for authors.

The first will be a collection of short essays on, kind of, critical thinking. But not the way it’s usually talked about. I’d love to see your ideas.

Call for proposals (100 wds) for mini non-academic written pieces on critical thinking. What do we get wrong in mainstream practices of teaching or just broad cultural ideas about criticality? Embodiment? Western bias? Humour? Magic? Love? Propose me an idea using this form (and see longer explanation). https://joshthorpe.com/criticalthinkingproposal/

Thank you for your thoughts,
Josh

PS – Also AI for Students 2nd edition is coming out on Bloomsbury in August! Learn more here.

I’m operating a calm inbox this summer. It might take me a bit longer than usual to reply.
