Position Summary:
The First-Year Writing program, housed in the School of Communication, invites applications for a continuing-track lecturer position beginning August 2026. Responsibilities include teaching in the first-year writing sequence. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to teach courses in the Writing, Rhetoric, and Information Design major, depending on their area of expertise and program need. The position is a nine-month appointment and the teaching load is 4/4 (12 hours per semester). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must have the capacity to teach Introduction to College Writing and Academic Writing and Research. They will be expected to participate in professional development and service within the department, college, and university, and must be willing to participate in local, regional, and/or national professional development opportunities. Finally, the successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, belonging, equity, and inclusion through their teaching, mentoring, and/or service.

Required Education and/or Teaching:
M.A. or PhD degree in Rhetoric & Composition, Technical and/or Professional Writing, or a closely related field. At least two years of experience teaching and/or tutoring academic writing.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Training and/or experience in inclusive pedagogies, hybrid teaching practices, and /or multimodality and digital rhetorics.
