Announcing a New Editorial Team for The WAC Journal

The WAC Clearinghouse and Parlor Press are pleased to announce that a new editorial team has been selected for The WAC Journal (https://wacclearinghouse.org/journal). The new editors—Caitlin Martin, Mandy Olejnik, and Elizabeth Wardle—were chosen from a competitive group of applicants for the position and have already begun preparing for the next issue of the Journal. Submissions can be made on the WAC Clearinghouse submissions portal at https://submissions.wacclearinghouse.org.
Elizabeth Wardle serves as Director of the Howe Center for Writing Excellence (HCWE) and Mandy Olejnik serves as Assistant Director of Writing Across the Curriculum at Miami University. Caitlin Martin previously served as a graduate assistant in the HCWE prior to assuming her current role as Director of the Writing Program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus. Together, their leadership and work span numerous major WAC initiatives, including Miami’s Howe Faculty Writing Fellows, the Lumina-funded Sensemaking for Student Success faculty development program, and an AI-Informed Writing Pedagogy Certificate program. All three editors have previously published work with The WAC Clearinghouse and are excited to guide The WAC Journal into its next chapter.
The WAC Journal is the longest-running scholarly journal in the field of writing across the curriculum. Founded in 1989 at Plymouth State University for the local campus community, it began publishing nationally in 2000 as an online journal housed on the WAC Clearinghouse. Between 2013 and 2025, it was published jointly by the WAC Clearinghouse, Clemson University, and Parlor Press. The journal is now published solely by the WAC Clearinghouse.
The WAC Clearinghouse (https://wacclearinghouse.org) is an open-access publishing collaborative supported by the efforts of more than 200 scholars who serve in various editorial roles, including journal and book series editors, editorial staff, reviewers, and editorial board members. It is widely regarded as the leading website supporting the use of writing and speaking in courses across the curriculum. The Clearinghouse publishes articles and books of interest to both the writing-across-the-curriculum community and the larger writing studies community and provides a wide range of web-based resources for instructors who wish to use writing in their courses.
Parlor Press (https://parlorpress.com) is an independent publisher and distributor of scholarly and trade books and journals in high-quality print and digital formats. Publishing since 2002, the Press also produces and co-publishes open-access books and journals, is managed by scholars and specialists across twenty book series, and has published more than 700 authors.
