Event: TYCA Northeast Conference, Lancaster, PA October 2-3, 2026

Dear TYCA Colleagues,

We are writing to invite you to attend the TYCA Northeast Conference in Lancaster, PA October 2-3, 2026.

Our conference theme is "Meeting the Moment: Connecting the Past, Present, and Future of English Studies," and we offer two days of engaging presentations focusing on two-year college pedagogy and practice.

Our keynote speaker at Friday’s luncheon is David T. Coad, assistant teaching professor at Santa Clara University in Silicon Valley, California. He previously taught at Solano Community College and Sierra College, where he developed a strong conviction that every student’s learning experience matters. His scholarly writing has grown directly out of his teaching experiences with two co-edited books featuring classroom activities: Dynamic Activities for First-Year Composition (2023, NCTE), and Digital Literacies for Human Connection (2026, NCTE). David serves as editor of the Writing Spaces Activities and Assignments section, and has published academic research on student experiences with digital literacies in Kairos and Computers and Composition. He is thrilled to join in the fun at the TYCA-NE 2026 conference.

We also will hold a Friday evening reception with a poetry performance by Lancaster City Poet Laureate Dana Kinsey as well as a poetry open mic.

To learn more about the conference at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square and to register, please visit our website: tycanortheast01).

We hope to see you in Lancaster!
