Survey: Help with Distributing a Survey to Students in Writing Classes

Hello colleagues!

Jennifer Burke Reifman (San Diego State University, jburkereifman), Claire Jackson (SUNY Geneseo, cjackson), and myself, (Stacy Wittstock, Marist University; stacy.wittstock) are writing to ask for your help in recruiting participants for our ongoing study investigating undergraduate students’ perceptions and understandings of GenAI/LLMs and writing. Currently, we’re asking for your help in distributing a follow-up survey to the survey we originally distributed in Spring 2024.

In this IRB-approved study, we are asking that students respond to a brief survey and then indicate interest in participating in undergraduate-researcher led focus groups. If you’re interested and choose to participate, we’re also happy to share the aggregate responses from students at your institution with you at the close of our research—you can let us know by responding to this email or emailing us individually (see above).

If you would like to learn more about the project before sending, we are happy to send you our IRB approval letter, a copy of the survey, or any other items.

We are hoping that you might send the attached message and survey link to instructors in your program and ask them to forward it on to their students, or send this message directly to students yourself if possible (see below).

We thank you for your consideration. Please let us know if you have any questions!
