CFP: Conference of College Teachers of English (of Texas) and the Texas College English Association

I have two CFPs for a joint conference in Texas: CCTE/TCEA (Conference of College Teachers of English (of Texas) and the Texas College English Association). The 2027 Annual CCTE/TCEA Conference will take place at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, TX from Feb. 26-27, 2027. The deadline for submitting proposals is Nov. 15, 2026.

The Conference of College Teachers of English (CCTE) welcomes scholarly papers, creative writing, and panels in all areas of literature and language, including linguistics and language studies, as well as the teaching of these areas. Also welcome are papers and panel proposals in teaching writing, ESL, developmental writing, and the virtual classroom.

The theme for the 2027 Texas College English Association (TCEA) meeting invites scholars to consider “The Ayes (and Eyes) of Texas” in creative works and studies of literature, film, rhetoric, writing studies, and related fields. This theme arises from dynamics between governing and regulatory bodies, higher education institutions, their faculty and staff, and the students and communities we serve, but contributors are encouraged to submit works that engage with any of the following themes: approval, consent, compliance, and surveillance.

Visit our Annual Conference webpage for the CFPs and conference updates on the conference. Please submit your paper and panel proposals here! (Presenters are welcome to submit to both conferences, which welcome proposals from a wide range of disciplines in English studies). Also, Please share the CFPs widely with your professional networks. Let your colleagues and students know about the many awards we offer along with the opportunity to be published in the prestigious CCTE Studies journal. I don’t know of any other regional conference that has so many and such diverse award categories!

If you have questions about the CCTE CFP, please email the conference chair, Dr. Lisa Valenzuela, at ccte2027conference. If you have questions about the TCEA CFP, please email Dr. Coenen at hillary.coenen. CCTE and TCEA now have a consolidated membership rate. You can pay your membership dues on our website.

Thanks again!
