I’m pleased to announce that the Writing and Communication Center at William & Mary is hiring an Assistant Director.
Reporting to the Director of the Writing and Communication Center, the Assistant Director will provide program management and operational oversight for the Center to include planning and facilitating events and programs, collecting and interpreting program impact data, and assisting with the training of multiple undergraduate and graduate writing consultants. This new position aligns with the Center’s recent rebranding and makes possible a significant expansion of the Center’s services to support the changing communication needs of university students and faculty.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Teaching one course per semester (COLL 100 or 150; SPCH 102 or 201; or the equivalent one-credit “technique labs”). The position also allows for additional opportunities to design and teach courses, labs, or learning modules.
- Serving as program lead to the Graduate Writing and Communication Center, coordinating all programming needs with the Director of the A&S Graduate Center, facilitating staff meetings, and supporting the professional development of graduate writing consultants.
- Partnering with faculty and campus/external co-educators to deliver information sessions, workshops, and other strategic collaborations that advance the mission of the Center.
This is a full-time, 12-month staff position, with benefits. The pay range is up to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
