The Nominating Committee of the CWPA would like to call for nominations for Vice President of CWPA and for members of the Executive Board (3 vacancies).
Vice President
A Vice President serves for one year in that role, in which they assist in planning the national conference and cooperate with the President on the activities of the organization and for coordinating the duties of the Executive Board. The elected Vice President serves a 3-year term, starting on July 1, 2026. At the end of their year as Vice President, this individual serves as the President of CWPA for one year, followed by serving as the Immediate Past President of CWPA for one year.
According to the bylaws, a Vice President must have served CWPA in some capacity prior to their nomination. Services include, but are not limited to, serving on the Executive Board, serving as an Ex-Officio, chairing a CWPA committee, facilitating the WPA workshop, or co-chairing the summer conference. The Vice President serves as a voting member of the Executive Board.
Executive Board
Elected members of the Executive Board serve a 3-year term, starting on July 1, 2026. Nominees should represent, when possible, the diversity of the members of the organization in such areas as gender, race, ethnicity, geography, type of institution, and size of institution. Executive Board members are expected to attend all meetings of the Executive Board during their term of office and to serve as members or chairs of CWPA committees.
Nominating Process
The Nominating Committee will select candidates for the ballot based on their credentials, professional experience and background, and prior service to the organization. Nominees should submit a current CV and a nomination letter to the committee chair no later than Friday, March 27. Self-nominations are encouraged. Finalists will be chosen by April 10. Finalists will be asked to submit a bio and statement upon notification of being chosen and will have two weeks to submit these materials after notification. Voting will commence shortly thereafter, in late April/early May.
Please send any questions and/or nomination materials to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Jacob Babb, babbjs. If you are nominating another person, be sure to secure their permission to nominate them prior to submitting the nomination.
