Survey: Department chair decision-making

Hi everybody,

This year I’ve launched an IRB-approved study about academic department chairperson decision-making strategies. As a department chair myself, I wish to learn ways to make my decision-making practices better—more deliberative, transparent, and equitable.

This semester, I’m conducting one-on-one interviews virtually via MS Teams with as many current and former department chairs as possible to discover how chairs decision-make. I’m interviewing chairs from across the country and from a variety of disciplines.
