Dear Writing Community,
I hope you’re having a great start of the fall semester! You are invited to participate in a study that aims to understand how online writing teachers leverage AI tools in feedback practices.
This research (IRB protocol number 15388) is led by Dr. Xiao Tan from the English Department of Utah State University and sponsored by Global Society of Online Literacy Education. The potential benefits of this study include helping you understand your own teaching practices and emotions. The results will also generate knowledge and practical implications for researchers and educators to improve writing pedagogy that could be beneficial for future teachers
You are eligible to participate in this study, if you fulfill the following requirements:
1. You are over 18 years old.
2. You have previously taught online courses at a post-secondary level in the United States.
3. You have experience with or tried to incorporated AI tools in feedback practices in online teaching
The participation includes an online survey through Qualtrics that will take 10-20 minutes. Please note that since your participation is voluntary, you may choose to exclude part of the data from this study.
As a token of gratitude, participants of the study will have the opportunity to enter their information for a raffle of one of the four $25 Amazon gift cards. The raffle result will be announced one month after the collection of survey data is completed. Survey respondents will also be invited to take a compensated interview.
