Survey: Generative AI Perspectives and Emotions

Dear colleagues,

You are invited to participate in a research project about higher education instructors’ (including tenure track, non-tenure track, and graduate instructors) experiences with, perspectives on, and feelings about generative AI in writing studies, composition, and rhetoric.

This study is being conducted by Dr. Cara Marta Messina (Marist University), Dr. Maggie Fernandes (University of Arkansas), and Dr. Megan McIntyre (University of Arkansas).
Survey: If you choose to participate in this project, you will first complete this 20-minute survey after providing informed consent. The survey questions will include some general demographic information but otherwise be anonymous. Please find the link to the survey here.

Interviews: At the end of the survey, there will be an option to include your name and contact email for a follow-up 30-60 minute interview. If you choose to share your name and contact information, your information will be kept confidential. Your participation in both the survey and interviews is completely voluntary.

Survey participants receive no compensation.

If you have any questions, please ask and reach out to any one of us by email at mbfern, mm250, and cara.messina1. If you have a question about your rights as a human subject contact Erik Moody, the IRB Chair at Marist University, at Erik.Moody@Marist.edu.

Thank you for your consideration to participate.

Sincerely,
Cara, Maggie, and Megan
