Event: Final call: Tri-State Ideation Session RSVP (for Oct 7)

On July 24th, 2026, the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) announced its decision to “de-charter” the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC)—the professional home for many in and across writing, rhetoric, and composition studies. There will be many paths forward, and this moment presents an opportunity for us to talk, share, and ideate from the ground up about who “we” are, what we do, what we need, and what the world needs from us right now.

We are writing with a final invitation to join us next week for a Tri-State Ideation Session (SW Ohio, Northern KY, and SW Indiana) regarding future possibilities and activities for Rhetoric, Composition, and Writing Studies.

There will be simultaneous in person and zoom sessions next Wednesday, October 7, 1-5pm. In person will be at Miami University’s Voice of America Location in West Chester off of I-75 between Dayton and Cincinnati. Zoom link will be sent when you RSVP for the zoom version.

Please share this invitation with anyone who identifies as a writing and/or rhetoric teacher and/or scholar, and RSVP here: https://forms.gle/F8hkQCvbLATNmfZ96

A brief agenda is attached. Please note that anyone is welcome who identifies as a writing/rhetoric teacher or scholar but there will be one activity where we specifically look at institutions in the Tri-State area for a mapping exercise.
