Take note of these funding opportunities with upcoming deadlines:
Career Advancement Research Grant (CARG)– applications due Nov. 20. These grants are specifically designed for early career and/or junior faculty who are working on one of their first major projects related to the design of communication. We encourage scholars at all levels to apply, especially doctoral students and members at non-research institutions, and we look forward to opportunities to support emerging scholarship in addition to established scholars.
Design Justice Grant – applications due Dec. 10. Through the Design Justice Program, SIGDOC partners with nonprofits in our conference locations to support justice-centered initiatives in communication design. In anticipation of SIGDOC ’27, we’ve organized partnerships with with two nonprofit organizations in Norfolk, VA: The Grass Roots Organizers (gRo) and Friends of First Landing.
