The deadline for submissions for SCCI 2027 in Raleigh, NC is Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11:59pm EST. Submissions can be made directly through the website: scci-annual.com.
The Symposium on Communicating Complex Information (SCCI) is a small but generative symposium, which often blends together leading and emerging scholars in the fields of technical communication and user experience. The symposium is a single-room event where everybody presents their work and receives substantive feedback. For many, this event works best for those in the early stages of a research project since the spirit of the event is support, feedback, and collaboration.
Long-time SCCI attendee and editor of the TPC seriesat the WAC Clearinghouse, Lisa Melonçon, has expressed an interest in collecting the best ideas from this event and creating an edited collection with fully developed chapters based on our presentations. CDQ has published SCCI proceedings in the past, so this would be a return, of sorts, to one of the symposium’s initial goals.
We’ll be meeting at NC State University from March 11-12, 2027 in Raleigh, NC. Our conference host is Jason Swarts, and our lead keynote is Arthur Berger, Technical Writer at solo.io, who will be giving a talk titled “When Documentation Becomes Agentic Infrastructure: How to Design Your Content, Workflows, and Career in Technical Communication for an Agentic AI World.”
Hope you’ll join us.
