Participate: Join our new WhatsApp Community for TPC graduate students (CPTSC-GSC)

Dear colleagues and fellow graduate students,
We’re excited to share a new community space for graduate students in Technical and Professional Communication (TPC) and related fields.
The CPTSC Graduate Student Committee (GSC) already exists as an active Discord community. But after hearing from graduate students during the recent CPTSC and SIGDOC conference season, we wanted to add a space for more direct communication, feedback, and community building. So, we’re expanding to WhatsApp!
Initiatives we’re currently planning include:

  • a writing accountability group that meets on Zoom weekly or every other week
  • a job market panel in Spring 2027
  • a new iteration of the GSC Mentorship Program
  • regular posts of job openings and other opportunities
  • connections for graduate students interested in collaborating on conference panels and projects
  • an informal space to keep accountable and stay in touch with graduate students across programs and institutions

Graduate students: you can join directly through this link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/CBHzgMTQxfyHgmApnZu0ny
For the Discord link, email us at cptsc.gsc. You can also connect with us on LinkedIn.
Faculty, advisors, and mentors: if you work with graduate students in TPC or related areas, we’d be grateful if you’d forward this invitation to them.
We want these spaces to keep growing around what graduate students actually need, so ideas for future initiatives are always welcome.
Thank you for your attention!
best wishes,

Thais R. Cons, Maia Pacini, Kalpana Shrestha, and Toluwani Odedeyi
