I’m thrilled to share with you this job ad for a TT Assistant Professor position in Composition and Writing Studies in the English Department at City College of New York, CUNY, a thriving Hispanic- and Minority-Serving Institution located in Harlem. The position will begin in the Fall of 2027.
As detailed in the job ad, the ideal candidate will have
- A Ph.D. in composition/writing studies, or a related field
- specialization in multilingual writing pedagogies, among other areas of expertise
- an established and growing record of publication
- evidence of effective teaching at the college level
Expectations of this position include
- teaching first-year writing courses, upper-division courses in language, writing, and rhetoric, and graduate courses in our MA in Language & Literacy (for 18 credits per year – a 3/3 teaching load)
- maintaining an active agenda of publication in composition/writing studies
- participating in student mentoring and departmental and college service activities
- collaborating with a strong team of creative writing and literature faculty
